Nice to meet you!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to learn  more about me. I am honored you are taking the time, because I know how overwhelming it can be to find a partner in this journey to better health.

Let me tell you a little bit about me…

I have been practicing as a Registered and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist for over 13 years with an emphasis in functional medicine over the past 5 or so years.  I graduated from Iowa State University with my undergrad in 2006, finished my internship in 2007 then started my journey as a Registered Dietitian in Denver, CO working for the Supplemental Program for Women, Infants, and Children. During this time, I received my certification as a Lactation Counselor and Adolescent Weight Management and fell in love with helping families and their little ones thrive. Little people and their families are still some of my favorite clients to work with.

Around 2010, I started to struggle with my own health and was unable to find the answers with my conventional training. No matter how hard I tried to be healthy, I found myself exhausted and gaining weight despite a vigorus exercise routine and cutting calories.  The struggles and search for answers with my own healing journey were found when I opened my heart to learning more about Functional Medicine, an evidence-based approach to healing the body by finding the root cause of disease.  After tapping into the resources available within the functional medicine model and integrating the foundations of Intuitive Eating into my life, my healing began and my practice as an RD was elevated.

After meeting my husband during a beautiful time of my life living and working in Europe, his career moved us to Hawaii in 2014, where I decided to pursue a master’s degree from the University of Western States in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. I graduated from the program with distinction in 2016 at which time I also had the great honor of working with Dr. Nicole Gesik MD, DO and Dr. Elizabeth Ignacio MD at IMUA Orthopedics, Sports and Health in Honolulu, HI. Dr. Gesik and I worked with individuals to optimize their health through the lens of lifestyle and functional medicine. Many of my patients suffered with autoimmune and gut issues so I gained a depth of experience with this population.

A part of my journey and experience as a counselor and health coach has been shaped by years of practicing yoga and other mind-body healing modalities. I can talk all day long about the power of positive thinking, Heart Math, among so many other things “mind-body”.  I earned my 200 hour YTT training from Samadhi Yoga Center in Denver, CO back in 2010 and use what I learned both on and off the mat. If you’re open it, you might find me asking us to meditate or use essential oils before our session to keep our hearts and minds open to the possibility of healing within the mind and heart. I’m a little obsessed with self-development as well and regularly listen to podcasts that remind me of the power within and support a positive outlook on our circumstances. I have book and podcast recommendations up the kazoo!

Most recently, I was honored to take a position as a Clinical Dietitian at Cheyenne Regional Medical center where I fine-tuned my skills as a clinician and paid witness to the inner working of our health care system. Though grateful for my experience, I knew I was meant to serve the community in a bigger, more PROactive way that allows me to use all of my skills to help take you to your next level.

In short, my philosophy on health is holistic and aims to treat the WHOLE person, not just the HOLE in the person.

Who do I like to work with…

I have worked with hundreds of patients with varying health conditions and concerns, but have found that I tend to be most effective with a person who fits one or more of the criteria below.

  • The person who is dedicated to their health and wellness and willing to put in the work to get healthier.
  • The person who doesn’t make excuses and recognizes they are in control of their future self.
  • The person who is ready to take their first step and needs guidance knowing how to move forward.
  • The person who is spiritually open and willing to dive a bit deeper into the “why” beneath their illness or feelings of dis-ease.
  • The person who is open to supplements and alternative therapies such as essential oils, acupuncture, massage, functional testing, etc.

I also love families and their littles…

Working with children and families is my jam. Having over 8 years of tangible experience with child and maternal health along with being a mother myself, makes me exceptionally passionate about the health of our children and future generations.

If you have a picky eater, suffer from daily fights over food with your little one, or just want to know how to fuel your family to create optimal health for all as a unit, I am your girl! I believe in working together to find realistic solutions for your family. The goal is not perfection, it’s progress.

I do more than just nutrition…

I believe nutrition is a cornerstone of our health but also recognize there is more to our health journey beyond what we eat.

For that reason, I integrate other passions into my work including mindfulness, essential oils, healthy sleep habits, and support you on a journey to decrease toxic burden in your home to improve the results of our work together. I teach both virtual and in-person classes that integrate all of my passions including nutrition, mindfulness and essential oils. Check out my classes page to see what’s coming your way.

Where you can find me…

I currently reside in Cheyenne, WY with my family (pictured below). When I am not in my office, you might find me practicing yoga, learning how to garden, playing around with new essential oil blends, trying out and developing new recipes, hiking, and just enjoying my family.  I also love to travel and have lived in three different countries and traveled to well over 20+.

I truly cannot WAIT to help you take the next step forward in your health journey.
