Beth Danowsky

Nice to meet you!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to learn a little bit more about me. I am truly honored you have considered hiring me because I know how challenging and overwhelming it can be finding a practitioner that is a good fit for you.

I have been practicing as a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist for over 13 years now.  I graduated from Iowa State University with my undergrad in 2006, finished my internship in 2007 then started my journey as a Registered Dietitian in Denver, CO working for the Supplemental Program for Women, Infants, and Children. During this time, I received my certification as a Lactation Counselor and Adolescent Weight Management and fell in love with helping families and their little ones thrive.

My experience in community nutrition was gratifying in many ways, but as I started to struggle with my own health, I discovered the answers for my own healing lied within the paradigm of Functional Medicine and Nutrition, an evidence-based approach to healing the body by finding the root cause of disease.  I started learning as much as I could through podcasts and articles online and began to integrate Intuitive Eating into my own life. As I experienced results of healing that could not be achieved with my conventional training, I knew I had to learn more.

After meeting my husband and moving to Hawaii in 2014, I dove deeper into the study of Functional Medicine and pursued my master’s degree from the University of Western States in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. I graduated from the program with distinction in 2016 at which time I also had the great honor of working with Dr. Nicole Gesik and Dr. Elizabeth Ignacio at IMUA Orthopedics, Sports and Health in Honolulu, HI for 3 years. Dr. Gesik and I worked with individuals to optimize their health through lifestyle and functional medicine concepts.

While pursuing my own personal health goals, I discovered the healing benefits of movement and meditation and became a Certified Yoga Instructor in 2010 at Samadhi Yoga Center in Denver, CO. Though I don’t actively teach yoga at this time, I have found benefit in integrating the foundations of my yoga and mindfulness work into my client sessions. The mind and the body do not exist separately and must be supported together for optimal results.

Most recently, I was honored to take a position as a Clinical Dietitian at Cheyenne Regional Medical center where I fine-tuned my skills as a clinician and paid witness to the inner working of our health care system. Though grateful for my experience, I knew I was meant to serve the community in a bigger, more PROactive way that allows me to use all of my skills to help take you to your next level.

In short, my philosophy on health is holistic and aims to treat the WHOLE person, not just the HOLE in the person.

Who do I like to work with:

I have worked with thousands of patients with varying health conditions and concerns, but have found that I tend to be most effective with a person who fits one or more of the criteria below.

  • The person who is dedicated to their health and wellness and willing to put in the work to get healthier
  • The person who doesn’t make excuses and recognizes they are in control of their future self
  • The person who is ready to take their first step and needs guidance knowing how to move forward
  • The person who is spiritually open and willing to dive a bit deeper into the “why” beneath their illness or feelings of dis-ease.
  • The person who is willing to try supplements and alternative therapies such as essential oils, acupuncture, massage, functional testing, etc.

I also love families:

Working with children and families is my jam. Having over 8 years of tangible experience with child and maternal health along with being a mother myself, makes me exceptionally passionate about the health of our children and future generations.

If you have a picky eater, suffer from daily fights over food with your little one, or just want to know how to fuel your family to create optimal health for all, I am your girl. I believe in working together to find realistic solutions for your family. The goal is not perfection, it’s progress.

I do more than nutrition…

I believe nutrition is a cornerstone of our health but also recognize there is more to our health journey beyond what we eat.

For that reason, I integrate other passions into my work including mindfulness and essential oils. These tools are optional but completely available to all of my clients. I teach both virtual and in-person classes that integrate all of my passions including nutrition, mindfulness and essential oils. Check out my classes page to see what’s coming!

Where can you find Beth?

I currently reside in Cheyenne, WY with my family (pictured below). When I am not in my office, you might find me practicing yoga, learning how to garden, playing around with new essential oil blends, trying out and developing new recipes, hiking, and just enjoying my family.  I also love to travel and have lived in three different countries and traveled to well over 20+.
